About the event

Hot on the heels of the London marathon, Up and Running is here to provide guidance to those new to running, and those looking to improve their performance.

The event will feature three different experts providing guidance around running form, performance and nutrition, clothing and equipment, and overall wellbeing.

Nigel is an experienced running coach with UK Athletics who has personally twice completed the Marathon Des Sables and three times the Mont Blanc Marathon - amongst many, many other stand-out running events. Through experiencing and overcoming injury, Nigel has developed an insight-led approach to injury reduction and recovery, based around body mechanics and human gait biomechanics in particular - a topic which is covered in his book, My Border Collie Doesn't Stretch.

Nigel will be providing an interactive session where guests will gain a better understanding of their own running form and possible adjustments that could be made to improve performance. He will also give an overview of the different types of clothing and equipment to invest in - for starting and developing running performance - introducing guests to Ross from Ronhill who will provide further information and background on their products.

Justine is an experienced fitness professional who has worked overseas in Cyprus and is now based in multiple venues across Liverpool, including the world-famous Barry's Bootcamp. Justine's fitness focus is on developing programmes for people that supports positive physical and mental wellbeing. Justine has personally overcome difficult times through fitness and exercise and is committed to helping others find their way through challenging times. Justine is working with Striide to offer retreats to people based in the UK and abroad and will be telling guests more about the unique events we have coming up.

There will be plenty of time for a Q&A at the end so come armed with all of your burning questions around running and wellbeing.

Bruntwood will be providing refreshments for guests.

Guests must be members of Striide or Bruntwood customers to attend. For any questions on eligibility, please contact rosie@striide.co.uk
