Experience

James has held a number of senior positions within multiple industries, including health and fitness, private healthcare, and sales.

 

After spending 12 years in the private fitness industry as facility manager and senior personal trainer, he joined Striide in September of 2022 as Events and Community Manager, assuming the operations manager role in January 2023.

 

James has been engaging with LCR business stakeholders for a number of years, from his 12 years in the health and fitness industry to more recently with Striide. He has delivered a range of events, activities and initiatives across multiple topics including health and wellbeing, business support, networking and professional development. James' experience delivering health focused events and support means he is able to provide adaptable services and initiatives specific to the needs of each stakeholder.

Background

James studied sports development with business at Liverpool John Moores University before moving to Leeds to study a masters in sports business. James is a qualified personal trainer and sports massage therapist, two passions he developed during his time in uni.

 

He has always played team sports, a member of Sefton RUFC since the age of 11, and captain of his school rugby team. He is a competitive fitness enthusiast, keen runner and all round outdoor adventurer, completing multiple fitness events including ATHX, HYROX and a number of half marathons.

 

In August of 2022 James and Rosie both climbed Mt Toubkal in Morocco, during which they shared a strong enthusiasm for the outdoors, something they are trying to instil in Striide. James believes that physical activity should be accessible and engaging, regardless of physical ability, he believes that creating a safe, supportive and inclusive space is essential to increasing participation rates in a range of different activities.
